Your apparel will preserve their performance longer if you follow the simple instructions described below:

Inside every Louis Garneau garment is a maintenance label indicating the most adequate care for that specific garment. Make sure to follow these instructions. Remember that in every case, all zippers, velcros and buttons must be fastened or closed prior to washing.

Never use detergents or stain removers containing bleaching agents or additives. Even a minute quantity can damage the fabric. The use of additives can leave traces on a fabric’s fibers that can hamper certain technical performances. The best rule to follow when choosing is detergent is going for the simplest. We suggest choosing a detergent that contains the words "transparent" or "nature" in its name. Do not pour the detergent directly onto the fabric, but rather pour it into the washing machine when turning the water.

For the majority of Louis Garneau apparel, we recommend hanging the garments to dry. No dry cleaning. Always validate the method to use for washing and drying on the care label.

• Friction caused by an object on the fabric, such as a belt, shoulder bag, backpack, velcros, etc. can lead to the deterioration (pilling, runs in the fabric, etc.) of the product.
• It’s very important to thoroughly rinse your triathlon garments after use in a pool, the sea, etc., to remove any chlorine or salt in order to prevent loss of elasticity and color. This will ensure a better durability of the garment.

We consider that a helmet has a limited useful life depending on the obvious signs of use. This is why Louis Garneau Sports generally recommends replacing your helmet after three (3) years of use. The helmet has to be replaced at the latest 7 years after the manufacturing date.

• A helmet can be seriously damaged upon contact with substances such as certain solvents, cleaning products, gasoline, paint, adhesives or detergents. The damage caused may not be visible to the consumer, but will automatically void the warranty. We strongly recommend not adding anything to the helmet except what has been provided upon purchase. The plastic covering the helmet can be cleaned with lukewarm water and soft soap. The padding is hand washable and can be replaced. Excessive heat can cause the helmet to deteriorate, therefor avoid leaving the helmet in the car or any other place these conditions can occur. Small bumps can appear on the surface of some helmets exposed to excessive heat, making their surface rugged and unequal. If this phenomenon occurs, whether it’s minimal or important, it is recommended to destroy the helmet.
• Do not modify your helmet. Do not make any modifications to your helmet. It can be dangerous to modify of remove components of the helmet other than the modifications recommended by the manufacturer. The helmet was not designed for the addition of accessories other than those suggested by the manufacturer.

This helmet should not be worn by children climbing or engaged in other activities on playgrounds, as this use on such equipment hides a risk of strangulation.
