It is raining outside the SUGOI office today. Kids are back at their first week of school, after a blissful three months off for summer break, and although SUGOI employees have been working hard throughout the summer, there is a definite change in the air as we get ready for Fall. So as the leaves start to change color, we thought we’d take the opportunity to look back on what a successful summer SUGOI has had when it comes to awards!

We’ve scooped up plenty of awards over the last couple of months, and would like to let you know about a few of the gems. Our Helium Jacket and Helium Vests are multi-winners – both in North America and Europe. Most impressively, RoadBIKE (issue 08/09) named both the Helium Vest and the Helium Jacket as test winners in their respective categories.

An “evident winner” in light waterproof jackets, our premium Helium Jacket displayed “outstanding values and credits in almost all categories,” according to RoadBIKE. Indeed, the vest scored as number one – and 5 out of 5 – for weight, packing size, and breathability, and as for the waterproof test, “only a single drop of water managed to fight its way through the Helium Jacket.”

Our Women’s Helium Vest was also a test winner, with high point values. The vest, which weighs in less than 80 grams, also scored 5 out of 5 for weight, packing size, and breathability, and scored 4 out of 5 for windproof, processing, and details, taking the reflectors, mesh back, and back pocket into consideration. “Small, light, stylish, functional,” RoadBIKE calls the Helium Vest, adding that “there’s almost no criticism to be passed” on it.

While Helium has also been picked as favorites by editors in North America, there are two other products that have won over editors and athletes alike. In June, Runner’s World named SUGOI’s Stamina Skirt as the Tester’s Fave. “Not too frumpy nor too skimpy,” said one 5’ 11” marathon runner. Another marathon runner remarked that “the shorts underneath don’t ride up” because “the nicely heavy material stretches from side to side, not up and down.” Described as “fun” with “old-school styling,” the Stamina Skirt won the Runner’s World Tester’s Fave award, beating popular brand names like Nike, Lululemon, and Adidas.

Another notable hit on the radar: The RS Jersey. Impressed with the fabric, fit, and look, Bicycling gave SUGOI’s RS Jersey an honorable mention. This jersey is part of our elite RS series – with a professional look and a performance-driven feel. Our RS Short is a multi-award winning short, and it is nice to see that the rest of our RS line is receiving the credit it deserves. The SUGOI RS Series features proprietary innovative fabric and has advanced fit and detailing for true pro-level performance.

Moving into Fall, more SUGOI products are contenders in quite a few consumer and magazine competitions; we’ll make sure to let you know about our successes as they roll in.
