Business Systems Analyst
Job Function:
The Business Systems Analyst supports and trains key users on Sugoi’s business systems.The BSA identifies/develops integrated (process & technical) solutions and plays a major role in projects related to the implementation and enhancement of Sugoi’s business systems.The projects include the analysis of business user needs, documentation of requirements, translation of needs into functional and/or technical specifications, writing and executing test plans, as well as the delivery of user training.The BSA acts a team leader for projects, or a portion of a project to drive system-related projects from inception to operational support.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop strong partnership between business users and IT/IS Team
- Perform support and problem resolution
- Provide documentation and training.
- Create reports and special data analysis.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the use of existing business systems to reduce costs, enhance customer service and improve decision support.
- Keep up-to-date with technical and industry developments to make system recommendations.
- Understand Sugoi’s business processes and proactively develop and assist in the implementation of business process and technology enhancement projects with a team of Process Owners and Systems Analysts.
- Develop project documentation including proposal, scope, requirements specifications, functional and/or technical specifications, test plans, as well as the user manuals following standard system development lifecycle methodologies.
- Use advanced verbal and written communication skills, all aspects of the System Development Methodology and business process knowledge to make technical and non-technical information understandable to decision makers.
- Plan and conduct meetings to support the project steps: e.g. requirements analysis sessions, presenting alternatives, etc.
- Facilitate the solution selection and decision making process by presenting the evaluation of alternatives and recommendations to enable the business to make an informed decision.
- Uses negotiation skills to influence the project team and gain consensus on the selection of the most viable solution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or equivalent experience
- 2+ yrs in user training
- 2+ yrs in writing systems documentation and user guides
- 2+ yrs programming experience with any 4th generation programming tool
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Process oriented, logical thinker
- Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem solving skills
- Positive and energetic attitude
Additonal Desirable Qualification:
- Experience with Project and Change Management
- Experience with ERP Implementations (ideally JD Edwards EnterpriseOne)
- Experience in business analysis
- Experience with MS Office Applications
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience with Visio or other flow chart tool
- Experience with Report Writing Tools (ideally Crystal Reports)
- Experience with Business Intelligence Tool (Cognos)
- Knowledge of relational databases and concepts (SQL database query and programming)
- JD Edwards OneWorld Development Tools
- APICS Knowledge
